Scent-Sent

The smell of you lingers
Like a gentle breeze
It fills my sails
Sending me to paradise

Regret Washed Away

“I always regretted not kissing the guys that I liked.”

He waited patiently for the back story, which she delivered.

When she finished he placed a strong hand along either side of her face, looking into her eyes.

“Let me not be the one that you regret.”

With that he washed away the sentence with a long and gentle kiss that built itself up like a wave crashing into the shore.

A Photo and a Map

I put her picture in my pocket
Carrying it with me always
A reminder of the possibilities
The what-ifs and the if-nots
A veritable road map of destinations
Not a conclusion or end of the road
But a place of new beginnings

Earthquakes

The earth moved
When our bodies met
The first time
And
Each
Thereafter
And then it cracked
With volcanic force
From moans
And
Muffled
Laughter

Stuck on a Thought

I keep coming back to you
And the truth of the matter is
I’d rather be stuck on the thought of you
Than suffer the alternative

The Grass is Always Greener

When you’re color blind
You make mistakes
As in spending too much time
Alone
Problem is
I always thought
This WAS the greener side

Confession

If I said that I loved you
Would you hold it against me?
If I said I was leaving
Would you say that you’ll miss me?
If you thought it was forever
Would you then dare to kiss me?

Faulty

A fault is a planar fracture
-The surface was smooth as porcelain
Or discontinuity in a volume of rock
-Toned to the level of solid stone
Across which there has been

Significant

Displacement

-I adjusted myself to ease discomfort
As a result of earth movement
-My world shifted at the mere sight of her ass crack

Lips

Her lips made waves
On distant shores
As words flowed from her mouth
And sailed I did
As tide rolled out
My course set to the south

A Smile

A smile given to a stranger
Pleased with each other
Without a name or an age
No history to speak of
Nothing but a smile

And yet…
That smile is an elixir
A cure-all for what ails you
A sail to send you home
And tuck you in at night
