Standing in the ruin of the cathedral
A wayward boy stood where he once felt small
Among the towering walls and beautiful glass
A world far bigger than he, but a world he knew well
But today, piles of stone and bits of chared timber
Left him feeling lost, in a sea of destruction
A broken child amidst broken dreams and broken lives
While a tired and tattered nun scolded him
Chiding the boy for not behaving as he should
In this sacred place she still called home

Broken
Prisoner
A prisoner locked away
Beyond bars of steel
And walls of stone
Cold, numb and afraid
Waiting for someone
To find the key
The Road to El Dorado
Stumbling in the wilderness
The trees weaving a labyrinth
Each stone, each fallen log
Same as the last
Where is the road to civilization?
And is it paved or covered in mud?
Faulty
A fault is a planar fracture
-The surface was smooth as porcelain
Or discontinuity in a volume of rock
-Toned to the level of solid stone
Across which there has been
Significant
Displacement
-I adjusted myself to ease discomfort
As a result of earth movement
-My world shifted at the mere sight of her ass crack

Escape
Wise snake seeks escape
Nighttime heat waits beneath the stone
Teased first by his tongue
Peach
Soft crease wrapped in fuzz
Hidden flesh filled with sweetness
Rough stone at the heart
