Serenade

Let me sing you a song with my fingers
A lullaby to whisk you to sleep
Arpeggios to tease you
Crescendos release you
Dreamland upon you will creep

Neverland

A map to the stars
Painted by the gods
Lay between two orbs
Tracing their path
Leads you to heaven
“Second star on the right
And straight on till morning.”

Call And Answer

(By the Barenaked Ladies)

I think
It’s getting to the point where I can be myself again.
It’s getting to the point where we have almost made amends.
I think
Its’ the getting to the point that’s the hardest part

If you call I will answer
And if you fall I will pick you up
And if you court this disaster I”ll point you home
I’ll point you home

You think,
I only think about you when we’re both in the same room
I ‘m only here to witness the remains of loving you
You think,
We’re here to play a game of who loves more than who

If you call I will answer
And if you fall I will pick you up
And if you court this disaster I”ll point you home
I’ll point you home

You think,
It’s only fair to do what’s best for you and you alone
You think,
It’s only fair to do the same thing for me when your not home
I think,
It’s time to make this something that’s more than only fair.

If you call I will answer
And if you fall I will pick you up
And if you court this disaster I”ll point you home
I’ll point you home

I warning you, don’t ever do
Those crazy messed up things you do.
If you ever do, I promise you
I’ll be the first to crucify you
It’s time to prove that you came back here to rebuild?
Rebuild…
Rebuild

*Yesterday my friend tells me she almost called me to play this song over the phone to me. Every time she hears it play she remembers the time I sang the song…flattery at its finest, I think.

Birch Tree

Sorry “the ladies.”

Sorry that the skin on my legs and feet is peeling off in sheets like the bark from a fucking birch tree. I got this sun burn for you. Workin’ my moves out on the beach. Salty sea air blowin’ my hairs like I’m that hunky guy on the cover of the romance novel. But the hair in which I speak are on my six-foot-three legs – not the guy-orgeous curls that fall from my skull.

Don’t worry “the ladies,” you didn’t want none of this anyways.

*I really don’t talk like an idiot. Most of the time. I swear.

On Saturday I saw Jarle Bernhoft at the Doug Fir Lounge in Portland, OR. And guys, it was pretty fucking rad.

Frozen Mountain

The sun forgot to shine
And spring never came
The frozen mountain slumbered
Its waters did not flow
Flowers would not bloom
And the creatures
Who called the mountain home
Struggled to live their lives
