What’s In A Name?

Pet names, nicknames and names used as insult. Names are a funny thing. W’e’re all given one at birth (hopefully), but through our years new names are always applied; some for better some for worse. I find most of them entertaining as they usually include a story. There are the few that have no reason behind them and are simply used “just because.” Perhaps most of these fall into pet names. So it is “show and tell time” (mostly tell, unless you have a tattoo or something?). What names do you use? What names have people given you?

Here’s a few of mine…

“Last Name” – Usually reserved for teammates, from when I played sports
J or J-man – a reference to my first name
Chuck or Chuckie – my younger siblings couldn’t pronounce my first name when they were little, and this was born from an old lady who was hard of hearing and interpreting a 3 year old
Defcon or D3FC0N – my gamer name, which has since gone by the wayside. I’m 1337 BTW.
Beatnik or Beatnik du Jour – my blogging name, the former being more readily adopted by the blogging community
Juice, Juicy or Jui̤oise Рa name used by a gay friend that is a rendition of my first name
Sweets – a name used by a special blogging friend, though maybe I’m not the only one to receive this?
Hunny, Babe or Dear – terms of endearment used by someone special 😉
Cowboy – one I’ve not heard in a long time, but I’ve never resembled a cowboy in any way
Daddy Long Legs – not the spider, more of a description. used by my crush, but I would like it more if she would just shorten it to “Daddy” 😉

Here’s a few that I use (and no, I’m not nice)…

Warden or Pumpkin – my “keeper”
Poppa Collar – yes, you guessed it, popped collars abound
Princess – because the world revolves around her (according to her)
Winehouse – less Amy, more a combination of two words
Drama – pretty self explanitory
Football – I don’t recall the meaning of this one, but it stuck anyways
Elijah – as in Elijah Wood, a striking resemblance
Tony – has no relation to his name at all
PC – first and last initials
Pixie – born from a haircut, but also a bit flighty

At the base he wore a ring
A sign of his commitment
Promises of everything
When her release was given

She held it in her dainty hand
He grinned and swelled with pride
She took him by the metal band
And sunk him deep inside

Hike Up Your Skirt

The more your leg I chance to see
The more I feel there seems to be
Some more of you you’ll give to me

Maybe it isn’t that exciting, but I just realized and thought it kind of fun so I figured I’d share. Today I hit 4,000 page views. I know I’m small time and there’s a lot bigger and better blogs out there, with a great deal more readers, but for a guy that’s not really looking for much, I’d say that’s a lot!

Thanks for reading. Thanks for commenting.

Talk Pervy To Me

Yourself from saying
What is on your mind
Make it inappropriate
If that’s your favorite kind
I promise I can take it
And even give it back
When you ever get the urge
My ass is free to smack

Get Yer Con On

I’m not entirely sure what I want to do with my life; whether or not I will continue to work in my current field. Originally it was an easy jump from my natural abilities of being creative, but I don’t really have a passion for what I’m actually doing. I have a passion for art, and a passion for people… part of the latter including the more intimate side of relating to people, hence this blog. In September I will be attending CatalystCon, which is designed to “spark communication in sexuality, acceptance and activism.”

I live in a part of the world where we DON’T talk about sex, if you don’t have a “normal” relationship you’re an outcast, and the rate of change here is so fucking slow that we literally hear popular songs three months later… apply this to things such as same-sex-marriage (a term I loathe) and you’re looking at life in the dark ages. Actually I think the dark ages were probably more accepting. Where did we get off track? Industrial age? I’m sure there are studies out there I’ve yet to read.

But I’m getting off track! I’m hoping that this conference will give me a purpose beyond existing and thinking. I probably should have posted this sooner while early registration rates were still available, but honestly it is a good price in terms of what you’re getting. If you are going to attend, please feel free to drop me a line, I’d love to connect.

Here’s a more about CatalystCon:

CatalystCon is a conference created to inspire exceptional conversations about sexuality. It is about reaching out and stimulating those who attend to create those important conversations in their own communities, changing how we as a society talk about and treat sexuality.  It is about stimulating the activist that is within all of us and sparking transformation in the way our friends, neighbors, children and even politicians discuss one of the most important aspects of humanity.

This is a conference meant to energize, enlighten and exhilarate. It is a conference where everyone is welcome, everyone is respected, and everyone is encouraged to share their knowledge and experiences.   With the most current attacks on women’s rights such as birth control, mandatory transvaginal ultrasounds as well as sex education being pulled from our schools,  it is more important than ever to come together and have these important conversations on all areas of sexuality.

The fundamental principle of CatalystCon is that knowledge is power and sharing that knowledge is the first spark in igniting changing  conversations.

Let me wash your feet
And lather up your hair
Rise the bubbles from your body
Handle you with care
