Legion

Swiftly he rode across the night sky
On golden chariot born of the sun
Calling to him a legion of stars
Worthy of defending his pale maiden

 

Champion of the Moon

Scarlet cloak matching the sky
He marched with blade in hand
Joining ranks among the stars
To conquer the realm of night

 

Slumber

The sun sunk and rose again
With an eternity of night
Sandwiched in between
While a sea of sunlight
Crashed upon a crisp white shore
Exposing buried treasure

 

Deep in the Night

Who polishes the stars
Deep in the night
Up lofty ladder
To keep them bright
With love and care

From constellations
Took his ship
To the edge of the world
Where he sailed off
Into the night sky

 

Jack and the Beanstalk

While he slept the beanstalk grew
Reaching deep into the night
Snagging clouds full of dreams
Stringing them like a kite’s tail
A wonderland beyond the sky
Treasures of every kind to have
And in the morning when he woke
The giant had yet to be slain

 

Mighty Tree

At night a storm builds
A mighty tree stands
Silhouetted atop the hill
White light erupts
Yet the tree is proud
Slowly taken by the flame
A lonely, intimate finish
In a world gone dark
